Wtutors.com is owned and operated by W Education UEN 53357857D, Singapore ("Wtutors," "Site,” "we," or "us"). We provide this Privacy Policy to explain our practices regarding the collection, use, disclosure, and protection of information that apply to our Service, as well as your choices regarding the collection and use of information. Capitalized terms that are not defined in this Privacy Policy have the meaning given them in our Terms of Use https://www.wtutors.com/terms-and-conditions. By using our Service, you consent to the data practices prescribed in this statement.
Unless otherwise indicated all definitions in the Client Policy and the Tutor Policy shall apply to this Statement. In this Statement, references to "you” and "your” are references to the User of i.e. the Site regardless of whether you are a Client or a Tutor or other user. It applies to information we collect about Users of our Site and amongst other things, this Statement describes what personally identifiable information we collect from you, how and when it is used, how we protect it and who has access to it.
What Information Is Collected?
Personally Identifiable Information (PII): We collect PII (as defined below) only when you provide such information directly to us in connection with the Service. We ask for PII when you register for a User account with the Service, or if you correspond with us (in which case we will also retain our responses). We may also retain any Messages you send through the Service and may collect information you provide in Messages you post to the Service. We may receive PII about you from third parties. For example, if you access our Site or Service through a third-party connection or log-in, for example, through Facebook Connect, etc., that third party may pass certain information about your use of its service to Wtutors. It can also include your IP address or device identifier. This information could include any information that you have permitted the third party to share with us, and any information you have made public in connection with that service. We collect some information from all Users of the Site regardless of whether you are registered with us as a customer or tutor, to fulfil our contract with Users and to enable our legitimate interests in providing the Wtutor site and services.
Non-Personally Identifiable Information: We also collect and use information about your interactions with the Service in a manner and format that does not identify you as an individual ("Non-Personally Identifiable Information"). We may collect, use, and disclose the following types of Non-Personally Identifiable Information:
Analytics information: We use third-party analytics tools to help us measure traffic and usage trends for the Service. These tools collect information sent by your browser as part of a web page request, including the web pages you visit, your browser add-ons, your browser's width and height, and other information that assists us in improving the Service. The Site asks you to provide various types of Personal Information to enhance the quality of the Services we can provide to you and the more accurate the information you provide, the better we are able to respond to your requirements.
Any Personal Information that is held with Wtutors shall be retained in accordance with the GDPR. Wtutors is the data controller in respect of all of the Personal Information which Wtutors collects and receives about you when you use the Wtutors Services.
Data processing to provide and improve the Wtutors Site and Services
We use your information primarily to fulfill our contract to provide you with the Services that you request, and related services (this includes providing this Site, website administration and security). We run the following processes to fulfill our contract with you:
Enabling you to access the Site and create an account
Enabling tutors to create and promote their profile on the Site
Facilitating matching between customers and tutors, including personalising your experience to show you the most relevant matches
Enabling you to communicate with other users, and receive updates from Wtutors about your account
Enabling bookings between customers and tutors
Providing recordings
Enabling payments
Providing support for customers and tutors
Providing photos and videos to create trust and enable better connections between users
We also use your information to support our legitimate interests in developing the Site and the Services. These processes include:
To aid the technical administration of the Site
To better understand how the Site is functioning for Users to inform our product development
To draw conclusions upon demographic information
Preventing fraud, spam and abusive or inappropriate behaviour
Fulfilling our safeguarding and legal obligations
You acknowledge that your Personal Information may be used by Wtutors to contact you by post, phone or by electronic mail when necessary in connection with the Services requested by you on the Site.

We also use your information to support our legitimate interests in marketing our Site and the Services. These processes include:

From time to time, Wtutors may contact you by post, by telephone or by electronic mail, with information or offers relating directly to the Site and the Services.
When you register on the Site, you accept that your contact information may be used by Wtutors for direct marketing purposes relating directly to the Site and the Services.
Upon registration, you will immediately receive a welcome email which you cannot opt out of receiving, however, once this initial email has been received, you will be given an opportunity to unsubscribe i.e. opt-out, in every marketing e-mail that we send you thereafter.
Depending on your decision not to opt-out of receiving marketing communications from Wtutors, Wtutors may contact you by post, by telephone or by electronic mail with information or offers regarding products (and services) such as discounts, exclusive offers or information.
OPTING OUT: If you do not wish to be contacted by Wtutors in respect of future marketing communications, in the case of our own promotional communications please contact Wtutors by sending an email to [email protected] with "UNSUBSCRIBE REQUEST” or similar statement in the subject line.
Third Party Direct Marketing
If you have given your consent when submitting your information on the Site for your Personal Information to be provided to specific categories of third parties (other than Wtutors), or for Wtutors to send you marketing communications relating to products and services from third parties, then we/they may contact you by post, telephone or email with information or offers regarding their products and services.
OPTING OUT: If you decide to withdraw your consent to receive communications from or regarding third party goods and services please follow the unsubscribe link in the email, or email [email protected] with the subject line "THIRD PARTY UNSUBSCRIBE REQUEST” or similar. Please note that our systems may take a little time to fully register your opt-out, so if you continue to receive emails in the forty-eight (48) hours after making changes, please accept our apologies and ignore them.

It is necessary for the performance of a contract to which you are a party, or to take steps prior to entering into a contract with you, for us to provide you with our products and services. In order to protect children from harassment and abuse, we verify and store tutor identification card, passport or personal related information on the server for identification purpose which are not made public.
You have given us explicit opt-in consent to the processing of your personal data for one or more specific purposes, namely where you have given us consent to receive electronic Direct Marketing by us and/or by third parties as described in this notice.
Where we need to comply with a legal obligation; or in rare circumstances:

PERSONAL DATA, PERSONAL INFORMATION AND ACCOUNT DELETION
All users have the rights to remove their personal data and information from Wtutors.
You may perform the erasure of all personal data and information using one of the two methods listed below -
1. You may delete your account by going to the "Dashboard" -> "Account Settings" -> "Delete My Account". All personal data, information and profile photo (if any) will be erased and removed from Wtutors system and website permanently. This action is irreversible.
2. You may contact [email protected] to request for the erasure of your personal data and information. All personal data, information and profile photo (if any) will be erased and removed from Wtutors system and website permanently within three business days. Once processed, this action is irreversible.
